Give all that you can to Life

I watched an interview yesterday on Marie (Forleo) Tv with Gary Zukav. They were talking about his new book “Universal Human”. In closing, he offered the following advice: “Give all that you can to Life”.

Give – put it out there. Offer without attachment.

ALL – don’t hold back.

You – don’t worry about what others are doing. Don’t compare.

Can – what you have. What you are able to do.

That’s every aspect of life, including your creative practice.

When I sit down to create an artwork with the belief that it has to be excellent or perfect, I feel a dark shadow of fear. My focus is already on the end product. And I may need to grind my way through the process.

But, when I come to my work feeling engaged and with the intent of giving it my best – my all, I feel a surge of excitement and energy. I am focusing on the process. And there is enjoyment in this.

Intention

These different approaches may seem subtle, yet it is this very act – this purposeful and chosen intention – that makes all the difference. The experience and returns are very different.

And collectively, day by day, piece by piece, it is our life.

Give all that you can to Life!

What does this look like for you?

As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
